Browin,

I know nearly nothing about Japanese armour, but I've been to the Met's armour exhibits, and I know I have photos of everything there, including one shot of every japanese piece there.

http://www.yamakaminari.com/Alejandro's ... /index.htm

Here's a link to my photos from the Met. Hope it helps. Good luck! Post pics!

I believe the original two points posted by Sirs Ulrich and Vitus can be reconciled. However, my reasoning may be flawed because I draw my parallels from SCA rapier rather than SCA armoured; add to that I'm not trying to be a Knight. So take this as you will. Sir Ulrich says, be uncompromising. Achi...

All I want is for everyone to present an accurate historical impression. I don't give a damn what period you do- I like them all and I would be lying if I said I didn't. It's selfish. It's about what I see . I want to walk around and see amazing portrayals EVERYWHERE. All around me all the time . &...

James, what about overshoes for walking about in the muck? I seem to hazily recall some shakespearean references to tall boots. Something about about the 'stink of (something something) one could walk in overshoes in it' or something.

Or maybe I just need more coffee.

Maybe Los Rodeleros? Spanish sword-and-buckler men. The bucklers are generally domed, tho', so that might not be what you're looking for.
