Also thanks for all the info so far, I'm all ears right now, so if you have more keep posting.

Thanks

Reading is about an hour from Philly. There's a number of Archivers there, and a good SCA crowd. You could tap into that.

My Doctor said no more until I drop some weight. My blood pressure is way to high and is putting me at risk for all kinds of health nastiness. Mindset. I disagree. Physical training. In armored combat, the number of non-lethal injuries is higher (bumps, bruises, sprains, etc) but the likelihood of getting killed is much much lower. So if you get tired and sloppy in heavy, you're just gonna get knocked around more - no biggie. In rapier, y...

Rapier taught me three prime governors for combat - timing, distance, and the judgement to use them. Heavy fighting taught me to think under a greater amount of fire (trans - change strategies while getting beaten like a baby seal). Rapier fighting is *great* for spear work. Heavy fighting taught me...

Looking for a book.

A transmittable PDF would be great! Or anything really. Looking for Don Bernadino de Mendoze, Theorique and Practice of Warre, translated by Sir Edward Hoby in 1597. Preferably a facsimile of the Englisshed original.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
