I don't know if I would sit back with a bucket of popcorn to watch the show or throw my helmet on and go get some glory. Ok, I'd go grab my helmet. One afternoon in Ealdormere at a Kingdom-Level event: Bus pulls up, Sir Vitus and thirty other men at arms including several knights and Dukes from craz...

ah HA! I think I have it now. When I grip the polearm, the tip of the thumb plate contacts the bottom of the plate that extends out over the fingertips. I know it does because when I grip the weapon, I feel a 'click' of the thumb and the underside of the fingertip plate contacting. If you were to gr...

Your Excellency de la Flamme, The front plate extends out over my fingertips. When my hand is closed on a weapon that plate extends out over the tip of my thumb, thereby protecting it. You can kind of see what I'm talking about in the top picture. a shot to the inside of your thumb I'm terribly sorr...

14th Century Lowland Scotswoman help!
Hi there!
A friend has asked me to help sew & design a 14thCen lowland scotswoman outfit. I know diddly-squat about Scotland in that time period. Can anyone help me out or point me to some sources? Thanks!

All the lexan shields are covered with canvas on both sides, and then edged in leather. What he's not telling you is that lexan was clear . I saw the round briefly before he covered. It was a wacky, wacky thing. Pity clear shields aren't medieval. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v95/Magnus1500/We...

What is this Barony like? Who lives there of note? Who lives close by? What are the local practices like? -Vitus This Barony guards the western marches and mountains of the border with Meridies. It is a green, forested land that is a lot larger than it looks on a map. Though it is a wild place, it ...

Let me make a counter proposal that, to me, makes more sense. Why don't we knight everyone? Seriously. Knight 'em all. Upon authorization, we have a knighting ceremony. Obvioulsy nothing like we do now. I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry. But I read that, and the first thing that popped into my hea...

Lac d'amour

A scarf given to one's love, bounding them, perhaps used to save the love's life. "John Garland wrote: in the beginning of the thirteenth century, is a good au...
