I like to eat a banana or other piece of fruit with water a couple hours before putting on the armor. Mord. Yah, I"m with Mord. If I can remember to, I like to nosh on fruit here & there throughout my fighting day. It really helps. Of course, being a double duty rapier & heavy fighter, this is gonn...

Freiman, Robyn, If you can get me her head size I can check around in the Zen Warrior stock and see if we have anything small enough. If we do, I can prolly send you a pic of it and arrange to either have it show up at war or send it over to Europe. A lot of if's but we can definitely at least check...

I've got to find some way to do that before I die. Thirded. Anybody do any novice joust training within a couple hour drive of Durham, NC? I can/could ride a horse once enough to have the thing trot under neath me. It's a start. Okay, I quit. Back to carpet armour. I thought that for a couple of da...

I can't recall that any Japanese travelled to Europe with the Portugese at the end of period, but I could be wrong there. Beg your pardon, sir, but you are. There was a Japanese embassy to Spain in the late 1500's. They were known in the court of Philip II, King of Spain (the guy who sent the Armad...

Finding proper majolica
Morning!
The 'glassware' thread inspired me. I'm looking for dealers who might sell something close to proper late 1500's western euro majolica. Froogling the term 'majolica' doesn't seem to help.
One step closer to a Complete Proper Spanish kit. Gracias!

I want the Mid & their allies to come out of their corner swinging with fire in their eyes. I want a good, hard, fight. I want battles where we have to claw and batter for every inch of ground. I want that across the board. I want that for the rapier battles as well as the armored ones. I want peopl...

You know, there is another direction you could take this young man. There are plenty of examples of 'fantastic' armor floating around. Phillip II's 'Roman' armor springs to mind. And aren't the Negroli sketchbooks filled with this sort of thing too? I seem to recall Durer designed some pretty out-th...

Amaris, Sorry to take so long to respond. I haven't seen any illustrations regarding red turbans with white hats. I, too, have always seen it the other way 'round. And that's the way I wear it. I freely admit I may be ignorant on this point! Honestly (if it's not too late! ) I say go with what's abs...

So, based on the above, you could go with a mail hauberk, some type of padded undergarment (it looks like he's wearing one in the figure from the 'Apocalypse of St. John'), a conical helm with nasal, a round shield, and a spear? It looks like at least a couple of those figures have their mail edged ...
