*shrugs* Call me ignorant, call me out of touch with reality if you like. All I know is that I have seen the situation where a knight/walkers on the chivalric path gets their valueset called into question over a business transaction occur over and over again.

Sha-ul, Out of curiosity, what's the point of this exercise? If you're just horsing around with some steel and learning about armouring, then that's all good. But if you're working on these for your 16th Cen kit....why? What model are you working from? PS - you going to be at Feast of Eagles? A

Then honestly? Get steel. Your hands are one of those things where it pays not to mess about. Pitbull has some sweet-looking steel gaunts there, you should buy them instead.

First off, what Piers said - don't. Those on the chivalric path should not soil their hands with tradesman's work. Secondly, the things you say (or have said in the past) on other forums will affect your business. Your personal behavior and your professional behavior are not separate - especi...

+ Tasha. Having been to a couple of Calon events and seen Sean fight, HOOBOY. That man hands out heroic fights like girl scouts hand out thin mints. Cheap, fun, and it might hurt later.

I would immediately institute the helmschau in every tournament across the land. Maintaining your gear is as much a part of fighting as swinging a sword. If you let your junk look like a Sanford & son reject, then you deserve to be sidelined by the Gallery of Ladies while the gentr...

There is a simple and effective way to rid the Society of knee fighting. Anytime someone hits you in the leg, call it good and retire. I have done it, it works, and nobody seems disturbed by it. I would like to retain combat archery in the Society because it's presence is a tool to alert me who the ...

Anecdotal example. I realized I was getting good at the SCA fight game the first time I helped someone up from the ground asking them why they had fallen and they said "because you hit me". My conscious mind had not been involved in the process at all. They gapped in a spot I had a shot f...

How about just empty your mind? Works for some people. On the other hand, read up on Col.
