This is awesome advice - keep it comin'! I'm really, really loathe to bend it back out by heating. I could actually do it (I have access to an oxy setup for the moment) but I'm loathe to heat it/weld another bar in place/replace the bar. The primary reason for this is that I didn't make this setup -...

Is that a combat or target crossbow? Yes. Who made it? Came from the workshop of (but not made by) Don Iolo of New World Arbalest; crossbows.net. What kind of acrylic did you use for hardening? 100% acrylic. You get it in a clear bottle labeled "Pledge with Future! Shine". It has a blue l...

Any thoughts on how to fix my bargrill?

I got a good idea from Dante, but I'd also hear other input. The bend in the bar goes straight down (gotta block those hammer shots). No solutions involving heating, please - I'd like to preserve the finish. Thanks for any & all input. <img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3570/3427228374_85f...

Oh, totally. I did it this way because the box-construction was eluding me, and I didn't have *that* much leather. Thanks for your input, Sir! :D

If I summon up the gumption to make a turkish quiver, it'll hang at an angle too. These bolts are short enough that it doesn't need an angle.

Did some leatherwork

Got tired of jamming my bolts into my belt for target practice. So I made myself a snappy bolt bag with my Society badge on it. I'm really pleased with the way the finish came out. The background is done pointilist style, in open imitation of Cat, whose works I have long admired. I found the techniq...

Well, you might be portraying a protestant, but you've got a morion - so I s'pose you're alright. An idle question - if you're going to all the trouble of doing a linen jack, why are you using kydex? Go all the way, and use steel. If you use spring steel, there won't be any weight difference at all.

Brewer et al, what is a good pattern for a jerkin? I found some heavy weight suede that I hope has close to the correct color. Jerkin is a loaded term too. As far as the design goes - I totally winged (wung?) it. It can't fit 'reasonably' well. It has to fit CLOSELY. Like, Agnarr-on-a-Golden-Girls-lookalike close.

Only where leather thongs are involved. :D

I'd say that the stress is transferred to the pourpoint, but it's distributed throughout the garment via the tightness. Although there is some concentration in the shoulders. Not much, though. Definitely not the whole weight of the legs.

Well sewn eyelets and a quality fabric will prevent any tearing. alail/scott Not in my experience. The holes behind the leather on the pourpoint aren't eyeletted.
