Re: Rude Salutes

The video surprised me, I would not have felt "saluted" after that. What I saw looked like a man who used the "salute" moment for pressing his "on" button. Now, my opponent is not obliged to salute me, it is just the polite thing to do. Ditto on that. From watching tha...

Re: Rude Salutes

On the infrequent occasions when I have a shield, I may do a big, attention getting slap. It's a show for the crowd, an attention getter that says "hey folks, we're ready to go here, you might want to watch this" and it says to my opponent that I'm ready to go. See, in my mind, that right...

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with primary material. Wolfram's Parzival, the Lais of Marie de France, Chretien de Troyes' Arthurian romances, the work of Hartmann von Aue, of Beroul, Layamon, the Pearl poet....

Yeah, but you buy a PDF document. You can print that out or delete the file. Looks like this guy bought the PDF, and is selling printouts.

That's theft, I believe.

Thorstenn - If it makes you feel any better at all, I have very thorough documentation for the fox tails. In the 14th century, post- Black Death, there is significant clerical writing on the subject of the increasing tightness of women's dress, such that ladies of the noble and upper classes, and s...

Re: Do NOT buy tents from Matuls in Poland

Luckily my lady is half-Polish so she could call and yell at him at least in his mother tongue so nobody could claim a language issue. This actually made me giggle -- and then I thought of the problem (and risks) we here in the states face when ordering from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, etc...

Re: Late 14th/early 15th century tent styles

I always figured that, much as an army foraged for food in the field, they traveled with basic tenting, and when they set up, a couple of saplings were acquired, stripped down, tied together, bent around into a big circle, and used to frame the loop of the tent roof. When the army moved on, the sapl...

What he said. They look to be another company selling the Marutake Sangyô/Kozandô armours.

I can't add a thing. They do look pretty good, though. One of the few replicas out there made by people with a clue.
