Id speculate its not the armet design, just the execution. I see Sinric on occasion and have handled a few of his helms, i have a friend who fights in one of Sinrics armets, the helmet regularly sees pennsic, estrella and other events where marshaling is at its pickiest and the armet in question has...

That is pretty much what i mean Thaddeus, My stainless plates from the archive order had a fair size lip on the back from the stamping process, for the birka plate being able to flip it would make any diff anyway as it would look the same. flipping these plates is realy only of asthetics. A big thum...

The best book for these helemts is Tweedles Coppergate book, I have a book called the northern would that has some pics as well, but they are the same in profile as the pics we always see. One thing ive noticed with a few of the pics of the vendal and valsgarde helm pics is that they seem to share t...

I think you would do well to go for the layered english look, Your filthy underpants hang down the lowest, next your pink leiderhosen, being just short enough to show the bottom inch of the filthy underpants, Next over the pink leiderhosen that are on over the dirty underware you put on the barrel, ...

I strap this helm using a leather chin cup, leather thongs pass through 2 swivel loops behind the ear, down the cheek through 2 more and out through 2 small holes in the cheek near the chin where i tie it in a bow, it makes it look like the cheeks are tied shut. Muttman who posts here can comment, w...

I cant touch those prices but ill offer an oppinion, If i were on a serious budget and had to pick from the helms at those links id come up with the extra cash for the 12 ga bascinet from illusion. I think its the best looking of the offerings and offers the best profile. 14 ga in my oppinion is a l...

Well spoken Vitus, and i think many feel as you do, but i feel many dont speak up because of their station in the fighting community. Winning Pennsic is almost a rabbid need in my area, some of the melee specific instruction ive seen being handed out is so disheartening. You are right we are not on ...

Its interesting that the blue brig we are discussing has very few similarities to the brig in memlings painting. In memlings painting the location of the lung plates is far lower than the lung plates of the blue brig in question, and the neck opening is quite diff, as is the plate arrangement around...
