the rivits on the brow should make no diff in its passing inspection, the occular is ontop so it realy cant be pushed into the face if there was a rivit failure, i put occulars on with 3 1/8th in rivits, Id say not supporting the grill with a central bar is a bad idea, would likely be ok Kings lance...

Ive found it behaves similar to mild when shaping, a bit harder but not as hard as stainless, Even not heat treated its a better steel than mild. The reason you dont see much is the cost and the extra processes, the heat treating and scale removal. I think as more people see it it will become more p...

My wisby plate will have the birka hole pattern, i liked the way my birka laced but thought the plate was a little long, not quite as easy to tailor, and i prefer the "D" shape of the wisby. Ill be offering them as plates, kits with instructions and lace as well as options like ptreuges leather shou...

Review : Madd Matts Armoury
A few weeks ago i found myself in a jam, i needed 8 shield bosses and had no time to make any, Madd Matt to the rescue. 8 nicely shaped and finnished shield bosses in a very short amount of time, at a very fair price They are dished very evenly, nicely plannished and look to be about 13 ga. I could ...

Sorry Gundo, yes it was yuck, i hate to misquote, just needed an example. But in that case yuck and suck seem pretty interchangable I have a great deal of respect that you can be so brutally honest, sometimes someone has to say it, I just prefer to go a little easier thats all. Critism is very impor...

Olaf, i believe there was a thread about these helmets on the classified section, it was easily missed, i recall someone pointing out the lack of accuracy in the width of the eye slots, it was then pointed out by an individal that frequents Macs shop that the sights were large to accomodate scadians...

By all means its appropriate Olaf, Im also not sure if "the ultimate in authenticity" was quoted by Mac or someone else, i tend to leave it to the armourer to make claims about their product thats all, the thread in question did discuss that these helms were constructed for the sca so i think their ...

Intersting thought, and true in some respects, but not in others, I know for a fact that i have more armour construction ability than Chef, mostly because i armour every day, I probably built 40 helemts last year, but Chef knows a hell of alot more about aromour than i do, I could likely build a bet...

I disagree that we should not try, dont call it a war, still call it a tourney, but modify the rules to be all inclusive. I think banning scenarios that call for archers, sappers engineers is disapointing, limiting their involvement is a good idea, Why is there a huge castle built at pennsic, to lay...

Ok ok, but the shoes are still not done, but they are simple, Nike shark high top cleats (i need the ankle support) i think cleats offer to much grip, so the cleats a taken down to offer decent but less grip.
