George they are forbidden because they are thin, 16 ga helms are rare.
They are hard because they are case hardened.
Even if they were allowed they do not look like their medieval counterparts

Its listed on my site but is priced higher than he wants to spend, but we might be able to negotiate on this particular helm. ...

The term soup can is used alot around here, bit i think its being applied to the wrong cop shape, yours look nice, very nice, others have posted similar cops and called them soup cans. I would definatly see about getting a diff helmet, as others have said it is way to short. Im not here to plug my work with this pic, i just thought it would serve as a good visual as to a decent fit, as you can see it would be a great deal more difficult to slide a weapon under this helm. I do have a friend who make excellent aluminum armour but his shapes may not be as accurate as i think might require.

you could make a camaille attatched to a leather strap, rivit this strap inside the helmet.

this helm has caused some heated debate as to the authenticity of the maille, many claiming it was likely added after possibly when the helm was painted.

He did recieve a shot like that, it does not bother him in the least, you can see on his arm just below the tatoo where he took one.
Wolf is a very large rugged guy and seems just as happy being hit on bare skin as being hit on his armour.
His upper arms are the same size as Mutts upper legs.
