Welded maile scraps auction
When I mentioned I had maile scraps I got a ton of pm's. So I have decided to auction the pile. I will close this in a day or 2. Bid in even dollar amounts. Figure 10.00 flat rate priority for shipping, I am a little busy to do a bunch of shipping quotes. One piece is really nice and large. Not pict...

Re: SCA at an evolutionary cross-roads (A discussion)
Been around for more than ten years. Got an AoA. Nothing in the last 8 years or so. I get lost in the shuffle between "Good Lord we need new guys, stat!" and "Oh he's a triple peer, let's give him some more stuff!" It's pretty discouraging. Many folks I know who started after I ...

WMA Wisby lamella die is sold
The die has a new owner, thank you everyone who has purchased these plates from me in the past.
Id like to think the 75,000 plus plates I put out helped spruce up our lists and fields of combat.
Thanks

Re: [SCA] Is deliberate spear breaking legal?
That's kind of funny since nobody here has suggested that intentional spear breaking is ok. What we have suggested is that there is no way to determine intent really and that getting in somebodies face or going after their auth card via the marshalate over a broken weapon that we know will break at...

Re: [SCA] Is deliberate spear breaking legal?
And IMO, the guy who grabs the spear, cranks it against the tree and yells "You better let go if you don't want it to break!" is an assclown. . why? you let your spear be grabbed why should he let go? how is him binding it so you cant get it back, against a tree or wall the wrong move? se...

Re: An ethics question- recreating an existing pattern
Thats an "armour store" helm I believe. As for copying work, its the way it goes, everybody makes my removable grill kettle, right down to the mounts, such is life. Personally, I would consider it a compliment to my skill to have people "copying" something I made. White Mountain...

Re: Some new stuff from Knotwolf
@Knotwolf Sell kits. Stop wasting your time on the low-skill aspects of helm making. Zweihammer has buyers do lots of the work. Use the same pricing and offer it in stainless since you won't be doing the dishing and voila, whole new customer base with no trauma to the arm. Zweihammer has a computer...

Re: I think I have a fix for CA...
I truly don't see what's wrong with adopting the West's "Plate is Proof" rule. It might encourage the upper-echelon fighters to put on enough armour in order to avoid being the victim of "belt-hunting" archers that they might actually look like the dukes, counts, knights, etc. t...

Masterful as usual. You saying you are thinking of getting out is heartbreaking. To me as well. I've never done anything better than I do this, and this shop is a labor some 25 years in the making.
