It's hard to say, my head is just shy of 24 1/4 and with padding its to large.
It could be perfect, could be just a tiny bit small.

I don't use a jig or any clamps, just hold the piece with one hand, the mig gun in the other and tac the whole thing together then weld it up.

Re: Falchion SCA swordplay- an emerging style.

My doctor had me bring a weapon to him and show him how it was used. Because of excessive curvature of the shoulders I needed to keep my elbow below the plane of my shoulders if I wanted to continue without further injury. I switched to a heavy mace and kept my elbow in close to my body. The result ...

I am selling my wife's fencing gear. It is all crazy well made like all here stuff. Its been through inspections, our local fencing marshal fences in the same doublet that my wife made for me. The doublet is very thick, and has a removable "plackart," again very thick that fastens inside t...

I love the idea of staples.
I have some canvas weight hemp fabric that is crazy strong, I will dig some out and staple some of my lamella to it and see what it takes to pull it apart.

Re: 7 1/2 foot Polearm vs 6 foot Great Sword

I am 5'8 so I like 6 ft.
The 7.5 does indeed rock for wars, I just cant get beyond the "headless" shape of the 7.5 unpadded pole.
I enjoy using them, but the visual "appearance" of representing a weapon is important to me.

Re: St George - Hradcany Square - Body armour - Thoughts?

I have a roll of 1050, about 1.5 inches wide.
If I was taking on this type of project I would fabricate a die to punch them out, maybe 2 at a time.
That's a lot of scales needed.
I have one of the scales Chris mentioned here in my desk draw I think, the draw is a mess though.

Re: Could you make greaves with a forming die?

The sprint car body he is making is not really hammered over the wooden "buck" That serves as the profile he wants to achieve, there is some hammering while the aluminum is on the form, but most of it is done on the wheel, shot bag etc. Dean Jefferies "Mantaray" used a rod stock ...

I paid 500 for my b2, I paid 6 for my b3 and sold it as it was overkill. In 10+ years I have never had to have the blades sharpened and have never even bothered to adjust them. I cut for 12 to 20 ga. and use the shear 5 out of 7 days a week. The original is superior. I know its a tough price to swal...

I've been lusting after that helm for about 3 months now. I keep checking your in-stock page to see if it is still there and then wishing for a windfall. If I could spend $600 on a helm, the money would be in your account in about 5 minutes. Sadly, I can't. I really hope that whoever buys it from y...
