Starter Helm
apprentice made in my shop under my supervision. 13/14 ga mild steel, munition grade finish, filed edges. Some pitting at the weld, still a nice clean helmet painted inside to prevent rust. A nice fit for an average build, should fit a 23 in melon. 275.00 plus shipping <img src="http://www.whitemoun...

No, my logic leads to nothing like that. There is a huge difference between asking someone to cover up a Nike logo and asking them to fight in turn shoes. I never said SCA people should wear living History quality goods. You go back and find any post of mine that states that. You are simply making a...

whatever gorm, really stop being so silly. I don't think it's silly at all, Logan. If the SCA was a LH group, I could see your point. But it's not. It never has been. It never WILL BE. Having been involved in LH groups, as well as the SCA, none the the proposed rule enforcements would bring your av...

I'm not here to argue price. Jiri does wonderful work and if it's selling, then his prices are just fine. What I was wondering... isn't this type of helm more properly a spangenhelm? I could be thinking of the wrong thing though. A spangenhelm is of spangen construction, this helm is not. Nice work...

The first is a small bascinet, 13/14 ga mild steel, should fit a 22 in head. I think of this as a second because it has some pitting at the weld. Its still a fine looking helm. 300.00 <img src="http://www.whitemountainarmoury.com/images/random/smbasc1.jpg"> The next is my personal helm, its 13 ga mi...

Those kudos and awards are there to encourage and promote authenticity. If it is mandate there is no reason to praise those who do it well. I have only been doing this for 5 years, but I have never met somone who has been awarded for looking good. Being authentic, yes, they are called Laurels. Most...

I'm a poor college student, I find ways to make it work. Not enough money for Pennsic this year? See if anyone wants to pay to have their camp set up for them. Ask around until you are blue in the face to find people that are upgrading their gear and want to get rid of the old stuff. There are ways...

Re: Am I doing SCA wrong?
Hey guys, I've come to the realization lately that I enjoy training for fighting and going to fighter practice more than actually going to events (which I find very stressful for some reason.) Am I doing this wrong? Or is it ok to enjoy the SCA in this capacity. No, you aren't doing it wrong. I fee...

scratch n dent dale
Ok, no dents or scratches, but there is some rust. Odd weather patterns caused everything in my shop made of iron/steel to get a thick coat of condensation, this happens a couple times a year for me. Well it happened 4 days in a row, the result is rusty tools and rusty armour. The following are offe...

This and some other items will be added to my site this weekend. This groovy helm has a removable bretache, it simply snaps in place, no fasteners to fuss with. Nice fit for an average build with a circ of 23 to 23.5 or so. The helmet features a complete grill under the maile for excellent hearing a...
