Mine are hung at the balance point of the cop with a rivet on either side.
I have been fighting in gamboised cuisses for about 8 years, I do not have any issues with my knees staying where I want them.

I agree with Dan, there is a variety of evidence for scale in Western Europe, its just much less common than maile.

This helmet is available., I would say its a decent option for 13th/14th cent.
It is the only style I will make and offer at this price.

I do not allow anger to enter any aspect of the SCA.
I try not to let anger have any part of my life outside the SCA, I spent years learning to keep it at bay because for me its very unhealthy.

Nice kit, I believe the helms style is referred to as a "Baldenhiem" Spangen.
One of my favorite styles of helm.

would it be possible to get it without any finish at all? With the intentions that the buyer finish cleaning up the welds and such? There are really no welds to clean, an occasional inclusion in the welds that I would remove on a standard item may be there, likely not but its all about saving money...

Yes Tristan, laminated, and used at Pennsic in the past, always inspected of course. I don't see one being safer than the other. Some new stock

This Cervelliere and a new budget great helm will be added to my stock some time tomorrow.
The bretache is held on with a spring clip so it will come on and off easily.
The maile is from Knuut, the helmet is mild

My weapon is split, One split piece folded and taped over a "spacer" I love it, some give, nice sound on impact , nice shape. having a hard time picturing..could you post a picture? m hmm..looks pretty...but still having a hard time picturing whats going on with the rattan under the tape....
