Mine are hung at the balance point of the cop with a rivet on either side.
I have been fighting in gamboised cuisses for about 8 years, I do not have any issues with my knees staying where I want them.

Hmm, I suppose I'll try to make one then, seeing as all the appropriate production bascinets only come in large. I don't understand this statement By this I meant all the bascinets within my price range that might be appropriate to the period only seem to come in large. (My head size is around 23 i...

I lost a year due to surgery, the surgery also kept me from armouring so working on my kit was not really and option. I dove deep into my books packing my already taxed brain with info on my period of interest, chivalric culture etc. After returning I began to realize the SCA was not what I hoped it...

Nice looking helm. How much for a rough from the hammer finish? For say, if someone wanted to paint the helm instead of have it blackened or polished? Polish is not an option, there are no options really and no price changes, this is as cheap as I am willing to make a helm. It is what it is, black ...

would it be possible to get it without any finish at all? With the intentions that the buyer finish cleaning up the welds and such? There are really no welds to clean, an occasional inclusion in the welds that I would remove on a standard item may be there, likely not but its all about saving money...

Some new stock
I am testing out a more wallet friendly helm that should lead to a budget priced starter kit. The first piece is a 13/14 ga mild steel oil blackened great helm. Only this one will be black. Wire brush finish, not polished. Elbow/knees/shoulder should follow along with a pdf on cop/vambrace/cuisse co...

I would like to offer up the following challenge from the formats given to any who would accept- Outrance VI. To fight, armed with throwing spear, pollaxe and dagger until one is unable to continue or the judges stop the fight. The loser to pay a brooch, jewel or gem to the winner's lady. Dude you ...

Yes Tristan, laminated, and used at Pennsic in the past, always inspected of course. I don't see one being safer than the other. The laminated is less likely to break as the rattan that is the haft has not been compromised by being split. At 6 ft and with the give/flex of the lamination its far frie...

Some new stock
This Cervelliere and a new budget great helm will be added to my stock some time tomorrow.
The bretache is held on with a spring clip so it will come on and off easily.
The maile is from Knuut, the helmet is mild
