+1 on the gauntlet cuff. I really hate those ugly as sin plastic "bear claws" gauntlets. See guys wearing them with cuffs nearly to the elbow... And take them all as "cuff shots". . If it wasn't already well past time to do it I would suggest a 2 inch cuff on gauntlets rule that...

for putting holes in foam I bought a piece of threaded iron pipe, iron pipe threads are tapered. I ground the threads down so I have a sharp tapered punch. I just press it against the foam and twist it back and forth a bit, it goes right through and makes clean holes. I use it to make thrusting tips...

I just placed the exact same abrasive belt order that I placed in 2004.
In 2004 the order was 95.00
In 2009 the exact same order from the same company is 150.00
Prices can not be what they were years ago, not if making money is part of the process.

No, they are not. Mine are under priced for what is involved in making them. Folks that think prices are to high should try their hand at making some. Phillip Van Artevelde killed in a 14th cent Flemmish uprising had a female banner bearer killed beside him.
I have no idea if she was armed beyond her banner, but still she took the field.
Many women are credited with fighting along side their men in the Hussite wars of the early to mid 15th cent.

3-4 inch wide belts. and even wider. Is there ANY evidence for these? For women in the mid-to-late 15thc in Europe, fo' sho'. In fact, it's been a hard thing to find a repro belt buckle in the appropriately wide and shallow format that is seen in figural art on women wearing the v-necked dresses. R...

Its possible the plates are from another vendor and are laser cut and therefor a diff size.
The info on my site regarding plate size is correct.
Its possible the laced plate image on my site was stretched or skewed, I would not have thought of someone measuring the actual image.

I ready dont understand what you are talking about. The plates are 3 1/2 by 1 3/8th. They have always been that size, they are die stamped, the size does not/has not changed. Are you taking into account that the laced plates have a different dimension because there is an overlap. A 3.5 inch plate la...

I should state I did not lace the above shikoro, the customer did. As for material, I made 2 steel shikoro lames, these served as press molds for abs lames that were heated and then placed in the mold until hard. The larger steel lame was then added to the bottom to add weight so the shikoro would h...

Is there a difference in quality? I would say no, Polarbear forge offers laser cut, mine are die stamped, mine are also media tumbled for a particular finish, I am not sure if others tumble theirs or not. The tumbling blends the finish and eases the edges of the sides and holes. Fine armours have b...

Its just a plain old bascinet, the skirt is intact, you can see it peeking out from under the shikoro in the front. The paint is a spray bomb. the brim is a slightly curved rectangle. The top of the grill was removed. The helmet was scuffed by hand with a scotchbrite pad, cleaned and spray painted. ...
