One of the benefits of living in coastal California (North or South) is that even supermarket deli sushi is pretty good.

When you make it to SoCal, I'm taking you for Mexican seafood.

While playing at 30 Year, I was very impressed with Syr Blackhand's tennis ball launching crossbows and bow. While the projectiles (an unmodified tennis ball) don't LOOK like a bolt or arrow, their trajectory was very much like them - flat trajectory, hit with authority, didn't sting too badly when ...

While I do feel that the combat is intended to be honourable, there have been opponents I have have drawn in the lists that were lacking in honour, and I have withdrawn from the field - taking a loss - rather than comport with those who feel than honour is secondary.

Cold Steel shamshir is pretty rocking. Yeah, a friend has one, and I've done some cutting with it - the owner does iaido, and we were playing with sharp toys. It would be for taking to events, as the various weapons in my collection don't leave the house, as I wouldn't be overly sad if this should ...

I used a chest chain to secure a secondary weapon - in my case, it was a 26 inch short sword, carried in a scabbard at my hip. This worked very well for me, as I was almost exclusively fighting with glaive and 18 inch buckler at wars - and if things got too packed, I could toss the glaive and go to ...

Love the helmet.

Just to be pedantic, though, what you have wrapped around the helmet (the torse) isn't a turban - a turban is a pretty specific piece of headgear, details vary by time, place, region, social standing, and a variety of factors.

Do like the helmet (enough to mention that twice :D )
