On target for Tommy Lee.
After all, if you hit him in the ankle, he might call "good groin".

Despite all you've heard about me, that ankle shot was off target.

I have "Armour From Ancient to Modern Time" by Petr Klucina and Pavol Pevny. Its a very well illustrated book of actual armours (I'll let the more learned comment on the books worth). The only lacking illustration is on page 94 and is (of course) the only depiction of a Byzantine harness (used, i be...

How do I make these?

I'm going to attempt to make the upper arm defence famous in Byzantine art for use in my SCA kit. I'm assuming that it is much in the same idea of the earlier ptruges, but notice in the examples below how when the arm is raised the ...

As to relics, we already have them. I wear one on my hip from time to time, another around my waist, two at my feet, and one around my neck. Lienages are our Estates, and the knightly chain, spurs and belt are our relics. I'm thinking of the kind of thing you'd keep on a pillow, like a coronet from...

Once the castle is taken the sides are switched. Whomever takes the castle in the least time wins. So.....

Took em off after 6 hrs.
Started to tweak my knees, so I'm going to try a 4 hr block today.
Between that and 15 min of jump rope last night, my calves feel like they got a decent work out.

Its freaking HOT in just the vest and cover.
I think we'd have massive cases of heat stroke.

And we'd be slow and easier to shoot at.

Kevlar stops up to 9mm.
Rifle rounds go right through it.

Personal armor needs to be light and effective.
Like Stormtroopers!

Some people rely on it, some use it on occasion, most don't seem to.

I used it regularly until a well placed shot on the nerve cluster on my arm cured me of the practice.
