What's your budget? What time periods are you interested in? The best advice I can give is attend a few practices to make sure you want to do this. Then, borrow different styles of armour for a few passes to get an idea of what works well with your body (I had no interest at all in lamellar until I ...

(As viewed in Netscape/Mozilla's Firefox) Aesthetically: The background that you're using is conflicting with the font color of the nav text. Its going to have to be an alteration of the backgroung image as no text color can compete with the dark part of the image. I also recommend an extra carrige-...

hrmmm... Nope. Respectfully, without really really stretching and splitting hares... I cannot think of a single rule that is not applicable to both the singles list and also the melee field - - (on occasion the melee field has resembled the singles list) . So, I'm not sure why that would be an issue...

Well (I grabbed this pic from a wicked cool Czech site I think) m That coat would hide armour very well. Or... The easy way is to take some sole leather (12 oz) and tie it on to the gambeson at all the 2 long ends of each leather piece. You can harden the leather or even reinforce it. Tied to the ga...

I do (if I understand the question).
I fight with a oval for S&S because that is correct for my persona and because I enjoy the centrer grip.
I do my best to look the part also - still working on my leg armour (that's an anacronism because my persona most likely would not have had any).

Except that we can find examples of cross-checking in Medieval documents. A lot of the assumptions about weapon usage that were held at the time the rules were written have been challenged by new evidence. Bad bad bad bad bad example. We see shield bashing, strikes to the feet, hands, sphincter, et...

There is nothing in the rules agains taking your pole arm and hooking your oponents head (haft on the back of his head, one hand on each side of his head) and then yanking toward you. I don't recommend trying that either. Seriously though, Apply common sence and everything should work out. Consider ...

pushing/punching our opponent is forbidden Cross checking would fall under the catagory of pushing. No? You are not striking a blow, as being hit with the haft is not a "good" shot. Therefore, its pushing. The danger is cross checking with a greatsword (1/2 swording) as that would be "legal", but v...

Re: it works the other way too
Well, you can hit a hafted weapon on the haft with any part of your body, and you can, I believe do the same to a shield. mmmm.... I don't think so. You can't have shield to body or body to shield contact. Striking surface to opponent and shield to shield (or weapon to shield) contact only. where's...

If you have several bits of leather that are all green, I don't think anyone would notice. I asumme the belt will be holding up armour? Or sinching a tunic? It is the later where the belt is often worn to (unofficially) denote a relationship. Bottom line, do what you want. If it looks like an appren...

Looking at the drawing of the cahracter, the belt straps would go over his bicepts (it also doesn't help when his deltoids are twice the size of his chest. You'd also have to custom manufacture the coat to get it to stay open like that. Bottom line: its not realistic. U, When I made websites for cli...
