2 Years ago I had the honor to fight alongside of the Tuchux, right next to them infact. They were the halmark of courage, tenasity and integrity. Last year I was deployed and missed what is the best event of my SCA career. This year, I will again find myself in the Atlantian hinterland for the Crus...

I have a flat 12" buckler I made from street signage.
I'm going to put an "X" strap on it and use it for spear / pole in melees.

I figure if I have a light gauntlet, I can also use it in practices with S&S to get my defence up.

Scale is like, well... fish scales, or feathers. They are attached to some kind of foundation garnment, but only attached at the top of each plate. m Lamellar is small plates that are attached at all corners to each other with cording. freiman,

Ironically, I'm pretty good at teaching new fighters basic technique such that they can throw decent basic shots that generate lotts of power.

I need to practice what I preach.

Jackassery, if I may be so bold.

Dungeons were invented for just these sort of beurocrats that have become drunk with power. They have forgotton the whole point of the Society.

Pure jackassery.

I believe I understand all that. I'm an Eastie. I've always proclaimed that bringing anything less than my "A game" to an opponent is to disrespect them. Unfortunately, I fear that I've been untrue to myself in this regard. Background: My fighting can be described as " solid defence and shakey technique ". I think the root of my pr...

Sure, I'd LOVE to have that, thanks Thaddeus! Do you have any info on the cloak tied like a baldrick? For some reason, I see it being cut like so: |\..../| |..\/..| |.......| |____| (ignore the ".") Instead of a simple rectangle to allow for a propper tying (per the icons and paintings). Any thoughts?

I would not be surprized. A Kevlar flack vest without the SAPI plate will stop 9mm SMG ammo, but a knife will go through it with moderate force. The reason is that when several of the strands in the weave can act together, they can absorb a tremendous ammount of force, but anything that can exploit ...
