I thought it worked very well split between 1/2 E v M, 1/2 E+M v everyone. More battles are always good. You could go Byzantine if you break up the shoulders with cops (there's a bunch of art showing tassets and upper arm lamellar, but I've not seen any without a shoulder cop.
