http://www.honorblade.com/pics/2002/Sebastian2002Feb.jpg OK, you know the metal conduit pipe that they run wire through on the outside of buildings, and in the space below the drop ceiling in an industrial building? You know the ends of the pole get these boxes? Well the wire feeds into these boxes...

We use a different blade too! It's heavier and stiffer that anything used in strip fencing. The basic body protection is not heavier that strip fencers wear. Since the target area is the whole body, back to front. my body protection is two layers of denim. Same as my strip fencing jacket. And don't...

Here's the thing. In rapier you aren't wearing a hard suit. You do have to maintain control and your natural reactions need to be trained to be measured. Wild man stuff won't cut it. It is more about letting angles ,deft movement and position do the work. These play in armoured combat but are even ...

One thing that I'd like to add... Few of us in the SCA (a higher % here on the AA likely) stepped on the field looking period. I was fortunate enough to find Adam Berry at my 1st practice (or maybe he found me), and so I had a role model who taught me how to research, and to learn to use a critical-...

Its not that rapier *can't* be a real fight, but in many cases it is not *allowed* to be, or more the case, only certain individuals are allowed to actually make it a fight. I have heard this as well from long standing members of the Rapier ...

Antikythera Mechanism
This came across my House list today: m The Antikythera mechanism (IPA: [ˌæntɪkɪˈθɪərə], an-ti-ki-theer-uh), is an ancient mechanical calculator (also described as the first known mechanical computer[1][2]) designed to calculate astronomical positions. It was...
