On the subject here, it's onlu logical to assume that the poorer combatants (ie the infantry and skermishers) to have some form of leather armor. Nothing like a leather version of plate, but more lik a padded leather vest or some sort. If my memory serves, I saw a show on PBS about vikings and they...

Swete, It's a slippery and bad slope. Would you rather a hundred reenactors in 100 different arbitrary conjectural "leather armours" all adamant that "the absence of prof is not proof of absence!" ? You end up with this: m and worse. This is what you are advocating, and why so ma...

Well I do plan n having multiple codpieces, for different occasions. In fact, I'm planning on offering a challenge to my friends - you make I'll wear it! with the stipulation that it can't bring dishonor to my Consort or those who's honor I represent. Moving on! UPDATE 3 - Coif and Hat I modified th...

I'm using m As my rough guide. I do think that I'll try to point the codpiece to the pants (its just heavy due to the cup and padding), and nothing wrong with a bit more stuffin! (I have something I'm fashioning after, but don't want to post it until I'm done -- then I'll post for a comparison. ) RE...

Update 2: Fancy pants! I still need to add the ties for the leggings and shirt. The codpiece is built around a cup with padding (for rapier). http://www.honorblade.com/stuff/fancypants1.jpg http://www.honorblade.com/stuff/fancypants2.jpg Bad lighting, I'll have better ones when I add the leggings.

I don't think so.

It'd be a clacker, with the requisite give if made correctley.

A "club-sandwich club" ;) of clacker/foam/rattan(core)/foam/clacker.

Glue won't hold, strapping tape will.

I'd do it with a layer of foam (inside) and rattan (outside) and lotts or strapping tape.

Call it a mace and it's legal.
Should hit like a truck.
Because its short, it wount be too slow.

I'd do it as a clacker macewith long strips of cut/bent rattan for the blades, and foam on the bottom (as suggested).

That will look sharp, N!

I think it's 1 point for a loose, and 2 points for a win or something in nature.
The loser reports the fight to the MoL table.
2 winners are decided: 1 Chiv and one non-chiv.

10x10, though usually closer to 9x9.

It's a wholly different way of fighting.

Or are you thinking of the coif that was sometimes slashed and worn under a hat or helmet? I can't find any pictures of one, although there are some woodcuts and reconstructions in Osprey's Landsknecht Soldier. This is what I'm looking for! THANKS. Anyone have these or other images? Thanks.

Landsknecht - other than big hats...

I've seen what looks like arming caps on Landsknecht, am I seeing this correctly?

Anyone have any god pics/illustrations on what it would look like?

I'm guessing it's not just the same as a, say, 14th cent arming cap?

1ST: Tudor(esque) Shoes. I found a shoe (slipper?) at Walmart that has a sqare-ish toe, open foot/closed toes, and strap in the right place. It has a good sole I'll be able to run on the field, and walk on rocky ground in them. They were open back, but that was a relatively easy fix. I cut the fron...

Wide is good but you'll need to fiddle to make sure you don't impede arm movement at the shoulder. The set I currently use has thinner straps. To keep the sexy "falling off the shoulder" look from happening, you need to either "X" in the back, or bring the lamelar rows up higher ...

Syr Kenric of Warwick ranked last and he had 151 points?

Or even a copery rust.
