Indeed, one of the greatest stresses during a deed of arms is that it is often an imposition over the events of the day, and if they are not hurried along, then they can be seen as a delay of the day's doings. For my part, I would have liked to have had a minstrel to play a song to draw a crowd nigh...

Okay, so Painter requires some editing. And some intelligent reading--this of course goes to show the peril of a single source world-view. Regarding King Rene, there is discussion here about whether there was ever an actual Rene format tournament ever held, or whether his book is a guidebook to be t...

I don't like plastic. Plastic is often an ugly expedient. That said, I have an Egg Armory kydex half gauntlet that is only now, after four years, being replaced by a steel one. My knight, Sir Vitus, uses a plastic globose breastplate to achieve the pigeon-breast torso profile under a rockin' lentner...

I am interested. I will need arms and armor for men at arms, eventually.

It would be difficult, but not impossible, to interest my wife in such an expenditure, but I have friends who can and would drop the cash for this in a moment, if it strikes them.

I guess the point I was getting to was: Are you preparing yourself for a highly scrutinized museum presentation level of accuracy or are you informing yourself for general recreation. For the latter, Painter's mistakes get into the realm of esoterica--certainly if one swallowed Painter whole and wit...

Titanium is dang near the perfect material for lamellar, from a sport/art approach, being both light and good looking. Talk about a sharp bit of armor that is professional grade.
