Scott,
I could definitely use a set of replica medieval hammers for striking coins. Right now I don't have a set that I can use for public demonstrations. I would need a 2 lb and a 3-4 lb hammer.

All recent orders are on their way. I got to the post office five minutes after they closed Saturday, so everything went Priority.
Sorry for the slight delay. Let me know if there are any issues and I'll make it whole.

All orders placed in the last little while are packaged and ready to ship. This--I am talking in the next hour or so--is the deadline for regular surface mail to arrive to most places in the US before the 31st. After that, if you want delivery before Pennsic it will be an extra $4 for Priority Mail....

Russ, you were demonstrating the hand throw technique at CiT 2008--is that what you are suggesting? Bob, did they use any throwing equipment like an atlatl or a strap, or did they just hurl them by hand.

What I have is even better. It looks like an H when you look at it from above, and it has a length of pipe welded onto it, sticking up, into which you can place your banner pole. There are holes in the H to allow for it to be staked to the ground. The H allows it to be used in indoor events, too. John

I weighed myself in and out of harness. 40 lbs, including both arms, finger gauntlets, cased greaves, and bascinet with aventail. The shield is 7 lbs, and the sword shy of 3, so less than 50 lbs.

These will not pass inspection. Not enough protection from crushing. SCA-legal finger gauntlets must be made very sturdily and will more covering than the historical models.
