For Sale: Replica German Gold Ducats (1378-1415-ish)

I will let the lot go for $200, or 25 for $100. EDIT: I have fifty in stock now. John Jehan de Pelham, ecuyer and servant of...

CANCELLED.
My wife advises me not to sell this helmet. I'd be stupid to go agin' her. Let's just call it an offer I couldn't refuse by a member of the 14th Century Mafia.

I was just corresponding with Alan about this very thing. I have succumbed to real life. My wife is a little tired. I have a big move coming up right at the time that CiT would be, my block leave is too early in the year (March-April) and I will be in command still until May. I have agreed with my w...

Wanted: 1975 or 1976 Nova
I am looking for a Chevy Nova. I have some specifications I'm looking for: 1. It has to be a "Disco Nova," that is, a fourth generation model, from the year 1975 or 1976. There were stylistic changes beginning in 1977 that aren't the same. 2. It has to have the small-block 350 (5.7 litre) ...

I have survived four concussions. I like to think that I'm fine, and in fact I am doing better than many uninjured people, but I know there's some compromise up top. Occasionally I wonder what I might be like without the concussions. Maybe a little more able to focus. Who knows? A slip and fall on t...

Char is the secret ingredient. Whether charred wood or charcloth, char will hold a spark long enough to allow tinder to be brought to bear. I did a teeny, teeny bit of German longsword in harness at the first CiT. Raimond and I took instruction in some of the more fundamental moves and positions, agreed to limit ourselves to the learned material, and then went at it three-quarters speed. Crude, but enough to tell me that this would be v...

Your Highness, I have attached a photograph of the dirhem that I am considering. It is a dirhem from the rule of abd al-Rachman II, from the mid-9th century in al-Andalus. As a rule, I find dirhems to be aesthetically unpleasing--the Islamic proscription against images makes them text-heavy. But the...

People got good at it, good enough to make it c...
