You guys are a riot. I love your high res portrayal of insane noblemen. Very living history. Don't encourage them! The next stage is riding into each other's lands and hacking down some peasants. The place could do with a few less peasants. They're revolting, you know? They stink on ice. Ah, Nissan...

Re: "From the mouth of babes"

I am not going to comment for myself on this thread, only say that a new person on a household list I am on summed how I feel about this thread perfectly when he said: "If I were new, and had not met so many awesome people, and had read this thread it would make me question if I really want to...

pinch the trim lock down tight with a pair of pylers, working your way around the shield. I usually use some duct tape over the corners but as Brother Amos said, wrapping and gluing the canvas over it works fine. I tend to overdue things....

I think it is amazing how many people do not understand that raccoons are omnivorous and will eat your cats and chickens if they can. A lot of city people figure they just eat the eggs. Oh yeah. One of the scarest moments for me was when a racoon turned on us at a dumpster and charged at me and my ...

I have a lot of possum stories, sadly.

I once hit one with my car. Not only did the damn thing live, it punctured a hole in the sidewall of my tire, completely destroying it.

Hate em.

Many years ago I once had a possum that would come around and eat the cat food on the back stoop. Being wild, it didn't want to eat out of the metal tray the food was in, so at about 4am every morning it would smack the tray (right outside my bedroom window) with it's paw until it had knocked it dow...

Rave review for Thor Thor's Hammer

m I am so impressed. I ordered a buckle on line for a belt I am making on thursday afternoon...I had it in my hands on Saturday! WOW! I just don't expect that from an SCA merchant. This buckle is wonderful, cleaner looking lines than other guys stuff and at a much lower cost. Highest recommendations.

Leather working question....painting over dye.

Ok, so I have to make a squire's belt. I have a red one already dyed, but what i'd like to be able to do is stamp it with fleurs de lis and paint them gold. (No suggestions for yellow leather dye please, i've had nightmarish experiences with yellow dyes, and i'd much rather use gold acrylic paint.) ...

JvR - You might be looking at spears trying to bat poles or other spears out of the way, or drop on the top of a shield to "hook" it. Sloppy technique to do that, but it happens, especially in a crush/tight melee. EVERY once in a while, you find someone who trie to whack someone in the he...

We were told that your Kingdom uses "touch to the face" conventions now at BSR. Or at least, that is what they wanted to throw at us and have us take. It was shockingly different from Pennsic.
