Assume that Active, by my definition is: Has been seen fighting at an event outside of thier region in the last six months and not currently injured. Count Valharic and I did this for fun the other night and came up with about 17-20 active Atlantian knights. I looked over the chiv list today and ope...

Chivalric fighting has become that new love. I intend to take the field in whatever fashion my King and General require of me. If that means using a bow so be it, if it means taking up sword and shield then so be it. I will be arrayed to do whichever is required. Saying that I look forward to seein...

I will be there with most of my household. I will be flying Melisent's Banner and have a formal deed with Ullieag scheduled there. The format for the fighting is still being discussed but I think it will be similar to last years: Four fields held by knights that unbelts challenge into. If the unbelt...

Good googly moogly! It was a joke! If I was serious I would have written the Ansterroan archers and begged them to put down their longbows and outdated golf tube arrows and join the arms race of the Trimarians, with their Crossbows, Baldar blunts and wooden arrows, and shieldmen with huge freaking p...

Sir Samuel, Hopefully my clarification is to your satisfaction then. There is always a level of idiotcy in what we do. God, we hit each other with Sticks! Well, most of us do at least... Vambraces. If I ran the SCA Vambraces would be required. I've only severly broken one person's forearm and that was one too many. It could have been avoided too, which pisses me off.

One of the disadvantages of being a Knight of any sort is the height of the pedestals that folks want to stick you up on, not so much because they want you to be something to idolize, so much as to revel in the length of your fall when they cast you down. It's extremely hard to live with any consist...

You guys are too, too much! I'd never advocate striking a man after he has yielded! Please! Since forcing an archer to yield is a 'death' for them that's all I'm talking about. Get a grip and learn to take a joke people!!! (BTW, getting "Rhysed" about made me fall out of my chair! )

only question I would have is about the hand guard, whiether that would count as part of the weapon and not as "armour". You'd think it would be like a basket hilt (i.e. you can block with it and not call it as a blow...) I don't know. It's a good question. Since it's not a european weapon, i'd neve...
