We use a church social hall. Pluses: weather rairly stops us. Minuses: You can't drop to your knees (have to reset on rugs) and we have to move the tables and chairs at the start and end of each use.

It all depends on the types of blows that you throw and who taught you. My knight and I both favor swords that put the weight in your hand so that you can have a fulcrum point there.

I wear covered cleats and for the most part (except when I'm on my knees and you are behind me) they are lower profile than the other shoes I've wore. I have turnshoes at the house awaiting a vibrem sole. I have Bohemed boots too, but I can't fit my ankle braces in them. Even with cleats there are s...

Well sure, there is nothing more frustrating to a trainer of fighters than the guy that says "Oh yeah, i'm going to start fighting as soon as I get X magicial piece of equipement!" or once they start "Oh, I can't fight because my X is broken!" Big deal. Get off your ass and fix it then... Positive i...

We're basically talking about the same thing Animal. Those of us in the SCA are, in theory, attempting to protray european nobles...Knights. You are attempting to portray a Warrior from your Clan. It's similar, but different. I'm talking about a groundswell of scadian figthers that are trying to imp...

Remember that there is a lot of stuff that is just repeated and regurgitated in the SCA without being checked out. I have worn Templar stuff for years in the SCA, when the mood strikes me. However, I would suggest that you be respectful and if you are going to wear the robes of an Order, you attempt...

After all, if you are going to do anything as crazy as this, you might as well do it all out. I am generally proud to be seen in my rig in any company and when it comes to fighting, I don't su...

Help! Ankle Braces (again!)?

I've lost mine. Last time I asked about them someone posted a picture of the lace up "figure eight" brace with the plastic ankle braces that are my preferred style. Anyone remember who that was? There was a site on line that had them and I need them in a hurry....

Thanks!
