A, You are just jealous of his golden locks.... Yesterday we had practice in the back yard. First time in armour since the beginning of December. Took it easy. Enjoyed my stylish new elbow cops. Bought a copy of Total Medieval War for ten bucks at Best Buy....that was a huge mistake....stayed up all...

I've used Minwax wood stain and sealer on rattan maces i've made. I sanded the surface to help them recieve the stain. There are no noticable weight or flexability issues to date. Dye sounds intersting, I might try that next time.

Bob, you are one of my heros, but we are going to have to disagree, in part. Art is Subjective. Piacso broke nearly every rule of form, style, and color. Yet he created and added to the body of art. I'd love to see medival combat groups moving more towards actual medival practice, within certain lim...

I wear quilted cuisses over the mailled chausses. I have eyelets in the cuisses which have thongs that run through those, and point to a pair of stainless knee poleyns made by Anshelm Arms. What attaches the poleyn at the shin, a buckle and strap? How thick are the chausses? Can you post a picture?...

T-Bob,

Do you wear cuissess at all or just the mail?

Do your poleyns point to anything (esp. the mail chausses) or are they 'floating'?

Does the thong under your foot ever trip you up? How quickly does it wear out?

I've seen something weird recently....

I watched a couple of fighters have shots that hit them and THEN hit the back side of their sheilds, and then they call out "Shield!".

One way you can do the mailled look without a full hauberk is to make mailled sleeves and a neckhole. The non-mailled portions can be effectively hidden beneath a surcoat. One mailler I know makes maille that covers the feet and up to the knee. Patterns? Pictures? I've been considering making somet...

I love the Mac Bible, but please don't think you can safely use it as any sort of primary resource, espically to validate an arguement, about arms and armour. It was drawn by monks and shows things that are clearly fantastic and was meant to convey the fantastical battles described in the Old Testem...
