Hate to burst your bubble, but Precedence does not equal Prowess. Likewise comparing what we do in the SCA with what the nobles of the middles ages did is apples and oranges. I love more medival tournaments styles and champion them here in this Kingdom. But I am also satisfied with how we conduct ou...

I have some questions about the way Atlantia runs the trees. A. Are the trees seeded in any way, or is it random draw? The way this crown, and some of the others recently have been done is Seeded by Precedence. (there is no set standard, some are random draw, some are the old Challenge In style whe...

I have a stainless steel gorget from Red Falcon that I have worn for years and years, and will continue to wear, despite the helmet change I hope to have next year. Oh, ok. I just assumed that you weren't counting challenges, but round,no shakes. That round was funky because both raven and I got challenged so I had to fight both the challengers and beat them to advance one round.

Once you remove the spreadsheet lines it makes sense. On the orginial version I had you couldnt see the tree progress. Thank you Your Grace! Logan totals remove challange-ins from the won/lose ratio, which is the correct way to do it. If you put them in it tell you how many figths a fighter actually...

We had a couple of folks look into it. The things they wanted for this supposed 10,000 person event was daunting, and yes, they did want more ammenities than the pennsic site.

While it mimics SCA law, it is in fact, in Kingdom Law as well:

6.2.5.2 The Crown Tournament shall be a double elimination tournament.

My sca armour is just that, sca armour. I'm hoping on having the correct helmet by next year (I think the helmet really 'drives' the rig, you know?)

I doubt I would ever carry the correct shield for my persona. It's bigger than the large heater I use now and was used on horseback!

I cross check shieldmen (spear against thier shields) all the time with my spear if I have to. I'd rather not have to tho, as that is a "Oh Shit" moment. Worked well at Crusades, because they Black Ninja'ed me when I made it to the end of the bridge. The third guy was good enough to wrap me in the b...

In atlantia at least, the common rule of thumb is: Shield on Weapon/Haft Contact = Good Weapon on Weapon/Haft Contact = Good (Obivously) Weapon on Body = VERY Good Haft on Body = BAD! FIRE BADAAAAADDDDD!!!!! I have heard tell that in some places to the southwest of here they take haft shots as kills...
