"I am still learning"

This was from a response (from a guy named David Pace, I think) to a crazed Ann Rice Letter in response to critizism about her shitty, shitty writing, but it applies so well to fighting that I wanted to share it: "Then I grew out of being an arrogant little 16 year old ass and realized there is ALWA...

Ice Castles is the ugliest fighting of the year. Everyone is so rusty. Sorry to say but I hate that tourney. Maybe it's also because i've gotten snowed in more than once! The snowed in part is usually one big party, but the nearly getting killed by a jackknifed tractor-trailor that was coming across...

I got mine from Sir Andrew at a Ponte Alto practice, he has a huge roll of it he ordered on line, contact him.

Otherwise, you can get it at a car detailing shop, like on of those places you would go to get a window replaced or to Rice-out your Ride.

If you look Russ you will see that his shield edge is rolled. The idea is not to damage or break up weapons. Duke Cuan used Rawhide for a while from dog chews. He would get it wet and then clamp it to the shield. It looked really stylish. I use Trim Lock (stuff from the inside of your car door windo...

Sigh. I loved my 12' spear. Hated when it went away again. Of course, I hated when I didn't have mine and the bad guys did more! The general thought on 7.5 unpadded polearms is that we (atlantia) don't use them at home because we don't like them. But if they are going to be legal at wars like pennsi...

Also, I don't like some of the things that glaves men can do with them as it related to game play. If it is supposed to be a haft...

Duke Logan took his new leg armour from Mrks off and put it on me and then hit me with tonage in the leg. It was amazing. Despite the weight, the combo of the metal and whatever foam Mrks uses totally dampened the shot. It was perfect. I felt it, but there was no pain or injury at all. I just can't ...

Re: Painting or Powder coating Spring Steel?

Please forgive me for picking on your statements... (I'm thinking in terms of SCA armour, btw...) In the end, for sca sport armor, nothing will beat plastic on the maintenance front. Just don't wear the stuff in front of the public or at events. (Sorry I couldn't resist saying that.) Regards, --Ric...

Go back and read the line where I said SCA armour... I'm looking for hidden armour alternatives for early period portrails. I don't trust plastic for joints and lazy about maintance (thus blackening is out). But the idea of a harness made of spring steel with the protection and weight makes me all m...

Painting or Powder coating Spring Steel?

Ok, be gentle on me, i'm not an armourer by any means...I wear armour, I don't make it... I was thinking a few minutes ago about Spring Steel and how awesome it is in weight, but the pain in the ass it is compared to Stainless to clean, etc. So... What if you painted it? I know that most folks paint...

His Grace knows knows well that we fought with this standard of "positive force" for many years in Atlantia and with very few injuries.
