And Bryce, I see a lot of posts on the Archive with your name. Shouldn't you be out whacking someone instead of typing? I'm not getting out much this summer but I'll be at Pennsic for sure. See you there Noble Sir Johann, It's true that i'm lurking around here an awful lot these days, but not so mu...

Jeebus. This allegorical company thing is gaining momentum. Tristam von Schwarzwald (Lor' bless an' keep 'im) wants to join us with a greatsword named "Truth". I told him it would be funnier if Truth were a warhammer. Bryce, you should fight two-sword and join us if you're going to be Humilitie. Be...

Espcailly since the King of Scotland was a vassal of the Angevin kings of England. In all honesty, dress as would a French or Englishman would at the time and you would be most correct. After all, we are (at least the majority of us) playing at being a part of a noble court, not peasents. If you wer...

You can do that without a thrusting point too...just position the tip in front of thier face...they hate that... Yes, I have a thrusting tip on my greatsword - I don't believe in using a sword without a thrusting tip! I don't keep my tip lowered towards my opponant because of my style, however I do...

This was said: and there is another knight...i'm blanking on his name...he and his lady are always so nice to me...crap! He is slender and has/had a shaved head... I racked my brain and the only one I could think of, in AEthelmearc that would be appropriate.. perhaps you are talking about Sir Alonz...

You can do that without a thrusting point too...just position the tip in front of thier face...they hate that... Why fight with a thrusting tip? Because swords have points maybe... Duchess Luned, of course was huge inspiration for me from her first reign on. Likewise Countess Muirgen, my Pelican was during her time as queen. Baroness Thorja was the picture of grace as Baroness Caer Mear... Maybe it was because I was so young and impressionable but all the queens and princess w...

Grand Ladies that Inspire...
Most gentlemen of arms that fight in the SCA remember a lady, be she Queen, Baroness, or simple lady that inspired them to great deeds once, or that seems to be worthy of encouraging great deeds from us on the field. I'm not referring to your Lady, the one you fight for, but to someone that you've s...

Funny. I am from the east and thank you for proving my point. Heh. Actually that was a joke. I can drop names with the worst of them, but like Duke Alaric said, when I think think Kingdom, I am thinking fighters. I made the joke about you living in the East because you referred "Maunches" which is ...

Animal and James, I feel your pain. I caught to shots to the back of the hand/wrist fighting a lefty last night and it hurt like hell all night. Duke, duke, duke, duke, duke, duke, duke. How about non-fighters? A&S, service, laurels, maunches, You must be from the East... Who Best Represents the Kingdoms (SCA)?
Who comes to mind when you think of, say, the East, or the Middle? Name say, three to five knights or fighters that you think of when you think of a place... For instance, when I think of the East Realm Duke Lucan, Duke Gregor, Count Ruscilon, Duke Andras, Sir Steffan and Sir Balin come to mind... F...
