Re: What are your least favorite battle types?

I love that the battle that had that in the rules this year at Pennsic was blattenly ignored/avoided by the fighters. Kneewalking to simulate horses one of the dumbest most disrespectful load of crap I've seen in the SCA and I refuse to be a part of it.

Re: What are your least favorite battle types?

My least favorite battle characteristics: mandatory kneewalking for some class of participant make-believe tactical features (most typical example: "this 14" tall hay bale is really a corner of a wall you can't spear over." Put a damn post there! ) More rules than can be explained in...

Re: What are your least favorite battle types?

I don't think I've ever had fun in a Castle Battle. Lots of standing around and lots of holds.

I also hate Bridges (again for the standing around waiting to do something), but I have had a lot of fun in them.

Stetsons, cowboy boots and a THONG, get it right there, Boyo!

I think that you can change the Stetson to a Fedora, but then you have to fight Whip and Gun, just like Indy.

Wow. It's a video to a song that meant to be funny . Aaron thought the words to the song (and I agree 100%) were inspirational. The video itself is just a funny story showing the folly of man. Good Grief. Yeah it might be clownish at times, but he keeps fighting. And that's why everyone is at the do...

This has been my theme for a number of years. The best part of this video that you don't know about is that the "Great Big Biker Man" that knocks his lights out @ 3:25 is Big Dave Mattey, former Baron of Black Diamond, Atlantia, now professional actor and stunt man. So yes, this is the pe...

Thank you all. His Majesty and I worked very closely to design something that was different and a lot of fun. The arm sashes for the Anglo-Breton and the Franco-Breton sides that His Majesty had made were an excellent touch that added a lot of class. The MOL staff was AMAZING too for the tourney. Ju...

I'd offer the same advice I give to every new fighter on night #1, and it also comes from Duke Anton: "We are, all of us, 100% responsible for how much we choose to Suck." I.E. Your progress and your training and motivation are up to you. If you don't care, no one else will. It's both bad ...

I can't think of any other odd colored belts, but if like (once again, going completely hypothetical here), if I knew that Sir Bryce DeByram gave his squires red/gold checky belts, I would also veer away from it.
