Also, I'm dropping the price of the legs to $120. Someone make me an offer!

I fight with a spear, and have had three broken .... two accidental and one "on purpose"... the accidental ones were kinda funny big heavy guys falling and no where to go... spears got broke... the on purpose one, that happened at pennsic... I threw a shot into a door way and the douche b...

one and two yes. You can buy it by the roll from McMaster Carr or from someone like Johannes at Windrose. Mine lasts about a year under canvas. The canvas lasts only a few months.

Re: [SCA] Is deliberate spear breaking legal?
It's Douchy. Bleck. Indeed, the question to ask (or paint inside one's shield) is : " what would Bertrand DuGlesclin do ?" If he or Chandos, or Manny, or "Sir Nigel" would do it, then it is probably ok to do in SCA fighting. Um, I wouldn't look to The Toad for inspiration. All t...

Re: [SCA] Is deliberate spear breaking legal?
It's Douchy.
I've seen things get very heated, always at a static barrier like a castle wall when the spearman refuses to let go once his spear has been trapped and the trapper refuses to let go as well.
Bleck.

Atlantian rules say it has to have the appearance of a medieval weapons Vlad. "Progressive give" is gone. And of course it can't max out the weight limit. Does that make sense?

Re: unpadded but light?
Sir Omarad thankfully made a ruling that the By My Hand foam and the like does not need the old 'progressive give' BS rules. You can hit me with a four inch thick piece of unpadded rattan but a shaped piece of FOAM has to have padding? It was crazy. Weapons are dangerous because of the people using ...

I don't know about other Kingdoms but here in Atlantia, you aren't kept from Practicing because of the appearance laws. Just fighting at events. By the time someone is authorized they have the other stuff taken care of.
It's much harder to address after authorization.

If all goes well the next one will be in the Richmond area right off I-95. I have a similar park that would work here, or if we have bad weather I have an indoor/outdoor site.
I'm thinking late October or November at this point but we will have to see.

I can measure them. They are standard Windrose size. They were too large for Cunian but she is a tiny thing. They fit me about perfect.

Thank you to everyone that came! We had about 23 fighters, 8 knights and about 75 people on site. We've gotten some contact from locals regarding the SCA too from this. For those that could not attend here is the format we used: We started with open pick ups until everyone was in armour. 30-45 mins....
