Re: Does this count as calling it light?
I missed this year but I was at the BSR that Logan is talking about, and I have fought against my noble brothers of the Midrealm, many, many, many times. You guys want to be hit hard and you hit hard. I'm ok with that. That's how we play too, as does the East. It did feel like _at that particular ev...

Re: Does this count as calling it light?
Hehe. Except for that one crown you won for Rowan. of course not. but if i did face thrust, which happens once every 10,000 blows or so, i would throw a hard and solid one. regards logan So, if you were visiting a Kingdom with a lighter calibration that yours, you would refrain from face thrusting? .

You're the best thing to happen to CA since we had to add APD's to our gear. Seriously, can I have your babies?!?!? YOU ARE SO HAWT!!! No, I want to have your unicorn/johnathon babies!! Unicorn/Johno Babies are NOT SANCTIONED by the SCA, Inc. I will put your card if I see them out on the field!

'No, no, I sock 'em in the jaw and yell, "Pop goes the weasel." ' - Sam MFing Jackson. Don't even try and say the Midrealm uses touch kill. They don't. At least not at Pennsic, BSR, etc. So, if you were visiting a Kingdom with a lighter calibration that yours, you would refrain from face t...

Be patient. I haven't even heard back if my tourney idea has been accepted or not. The deadline for getting them in the booklet wasn't that long ago.

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!
We had a spun-top helmet nearby and we were smacking each other pretty damn hard with it. It was strange, because one guy would have a reaction like "I felt that all the way down my spine. Don't hit me with that again." while the next guy would say "If you think that hits harder than...

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!
See I think strapping tape is KEY. I know it adds weight and these are heavy already but from a safety standpoint, even one wrap half way down the sword would help a 'fly off'.

Hey Finn, remember the old round ring, riveted stainless ones with the brass edges, the nice heavy one you bought in an order and you/Ragnar gave me?
I have it still and i'm willing to sell it to you.
Let me know.

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!
I have talked to the marshall of the Atlantian practice that had a polypro fail, rather epically this week. It was purchased from Brast Industries and this was its second time being used. It sounds like there was an inclusion or bubble in the rod material. The break was L shaped and the part that fl...

Re: I want to learn more about Polypropylene swords!
Corby that is almost exactly my experience at TOC as well, and to be honest with most of the fighters at my local practice. I also have a feeling that heat/humidity is going to affect these as well. Cold seem to have no real affect and heat shouldn't but it's just a feeling I have. A lot of my blows...

Re: Atlantian Spring Crown
Vlad was really on fire. It is amazing he went undefeated to the finals like that with Two Sword. If he had won with it (he might next time if Cuan continues the no thrusting rules) he will have won Atlantian crown with two different off weapons. Jees.
