I would say that warm weather doesn't seem to effect it. I'll be intersted in trying it out in the cold this winter. I am doubtful it will make a difference,as it is so totally different from the old self lubricating nylon.

Not new, but I am curious to see how it works out in this day and age. Sir Tajenerum (sp?) "TJ" in Atlantia made one many, many years ago. Remember seeing it about the time Atlantia was made a kingdom. T Viscount Tojeneruem camps with me and yes, he still fights in his helm, though admitt...

Fought pickups with the polypro sword this weekend, as did Duke Ragnarr. No complaints that I am aware of. All my oppenants didn't comment on it being all that weird and a couple of them really liked it. You have to like heavier swords, that is the key. Will this replace rattan? Nope. But for practi...

If we are forced to wear more armour, that is a GOOD thing. I will say it leaves intersting bruises on bare flesh, but then again so does rattan. One odd thing I noticed was that at one point Corby took my arm. The shot traveled down the surface of the inside of my vambrace and all the way under my...

I don't know if you have to be on Facebook to be able to see these or not, but Iain shot four videos of Corby and I doing pickups at the end of the day at a Demo last week. We are both using Polypro swords. Nothing too exciting going on here...while we haven't fought in a couple of years, we fought ...

The problem with public practices (in my opinion) is the lack of light. When you have it at a home, you can put up lights so people can see. I have lights up in my backyard, but I also bring light out to our public practice (when we aren't fighting inside....) It takes effort. It's good for me thou...

Re: to do: video

I have for sale a Azon stainless butcher's maille half shirt. It's still experimental so you have to do the red and green stripes. (six inches) and you have to ask folks if they are ok with fighting against it.

As long as the material is bought from the same supplier there shouldn't be a problem with uniformity. Rattan isn't standard at all of course.

As to shaping, while you can't shape the body of the weapon, carving it for a sword handle is a dream.

Can't wait to play around with this.
