Jgalak, If you can scrounge some pieces, you could put one togetehr in a few hours. Look for an old bedframe (the collapsible type made from angle iron), a brake drum or brake rotor off a pickup truck and spend about $10 on steel conduit at a local hardware store. I have an expanded view of what I m...

ebay

I tried listing some stuff on ebay, but it seems I no longer have a seller account. Did something change there? Was anyone else required to create a new billpoint account in the recent past?

Patrick, I start by drilling several holes, usually with a 1/8" bit(for a blade that's ~3/16" thick). You'll need extra long bits. Look for surplus aircraft bits on ebay. You can then go back and use a slightly larger bit where the spine of the blade will be. Now file the holes so that it makes a sm...

Make a wooden head. Cutt it into 1/4ths (like panels on a spangenhelm). Add threaded rod so that you can adjust the width and length. Now you have an adjustable head.

I'll have some 10-15" bladed ones done in a month or so. What distinguishes a Norwiegian one? There are several features that can be modified such as blade width, amount of taper, fuller, straight edge vs rounded...etc. I couldn't tell you which belonged to what group, though other than the ones fou...

I haven't started anything yet. I got a surprise in the mail today. A refund check from Texas A&M. Seems they overcharged a bunch of people several hundred dollars back in Feb. Good timing! I'm still going to auction at least two of the stakes this weekend...Monday at the latest. ------------------ ...

ball stakes

I have several (4) 2" ball stakes that will be heat treated this weekend. These are 2" chrome-moly steel balls MIG welded to 1" square bar with ~12" bar length. They'll be finished in half-hard temper. This should be more than hard enough for armouring purposes. I'll get some pics this weekend. If th...

They have a separate bin with small tanks in it at our scrap yard. They also have several large ones out in the general area. Looking at the tear, I also would've asked if you normalized/annealed the steel first. The other thing that stands out are some of the tooling marks. I see a lot of small crescent moon divits in the steel. You can't do this with hardenable steel. You'll get localized stress risers prone to cracking ...
