Thanks! I added a few more pics of the stuff I did this afternoon. Now I have to get ready to go to a wedding...oh boy. How big's your head Ivar? This one's being made for a 24-24 1/2" head. I'll post it here before I auction it. I've collected a ton of pics of seaxes and I know what I want to do no...

Latest stuff in works...

Here's a helm I'm working on that will be auctioned off in the immediate future (gotta finish paying off tuition!). It's going to have a back/sides similar to the sutton hoo helm. it's 14 ga mild steel with 20 ga copper over the main panels. I have to finish some arms for someone who's been waiting ...

I wasn't trying to prove or disprove anything...these just happened to be a couple of pics I snagged over in Paris. I occaisionally make feastware and had just wanted some pics of some. I have no idea whether these were cast or what, but yes, the twist was not a blacksmith's twist. It looked like mo...

Here's a couple, with twisted handles also, but they are also 15th century. The fork, however, was listed as VII-VIII, with some other writing. I don't speak French, though, and you can't make out the writing in the pic. I think it was a fork from a "royal" collection. http://www.100megsfree3.com/kr...

The sell it over here now, but it just doesn't seem to taste the same and it darn sure doesn't cost the same! I brought back quite a bit when I was in ...

Don't have room for that, but I'd be interested in the bead rollers. What's the large black C-shaped thing. The pic is pretty blurred and hard to make out detail. Is this a punch?

A medium sized bearded axe with a back-spike, top-spike, and butt-spike. Some "gothic-ish" thighs and a plackart over black leather chest covering/vest. Maybe flute the plackart into "batwing" shapes...fluted from center of bottom edge, to three or four points along top edge with large, wide raised ...

That kinda describes this past Sunday here! I started out working on some helm tops and a pair of splinted arms I need to finish up. I managed to rip on of my last two 2" x 72" grinding belts in half trimming the splints! Safety goggles worked great, but it still makes you jump! Later that afternoon...

Cool! Just a couple of pieces....!? My son would outgrow something like that before I finished it if I were to make it! Mine already enjoys swordplay (yardsticks, 2-liter bottles, etc). I have 4' of 2.667" 4140 round bar. Now I know what to do with it! Originally it was going to be .75 cal barrels, but I can't find an spindle bore lathe large enough. I'm making a fuller fixture and will still have 3' left! I was thinking some war hammers as well. ------------------ Krag von Berghen...

Well, the first Southern Armour-In is now history. I want to thank everyone who came out and especially Olaf and the gang from Westlig Stjerne. Now if this was M-F of next week while my wife's brothers and sisters were visiting, I'd HAVE to find an excuse to go up there!

Will y'all be doing one in the spring? I might be going up that direction to visit family anyway.

I'll print out the stuff and translate what I can (it's been a while since I've thought in German). Looking at a couple of the pics, the splints are attached to each other with some small rings. They did show the main straps as being riveted down. I thought we had a couple full-fledged Germans here ...

Really nice! How are the panels done? The only rivets I see are the small ones on the brass. Are the panels welded into a solid dome underneath and everything riveted together with these? Again, nice attention to detail and finishing. ------------------ Krag von Berghen KragAxe Armoury Member's Pics

Edric, It's not THAT primitive of a site. We have running water. My parents have a 40' trailer out there. We might have to plan a trip into town once a day for lunch and to take a dump. I don't think the septic line in the trailer will handle that much use. We'll have a portable toilet seat lid over...
