Handmade 14c pouch and belt set NEW PRICE
Here is a 14th century-style pouch with a very long dress belt. Nice details. I will be offering a bunch of these over the next week (to raise shipping money for large orders) and each one will be slightly different than the last.

Here is a scabbard for a rattan "sword of war" or a rattan longsword. ATTENTION- the sword in the picture does NOT COME with the scabbard -it is pictured so you can see what the finished set could look like. Sword belt is looooonnnng so even really chubby guys can wear it. The scabbard is ...

Re: Thrusting in tourney.
The only blow I find offensive is the thrust-between-legs thingy. Anything else is fine. Okay, wait...movie-inspired spinning blows where nobody has any idea whether the blow landed edge-on really irritate me.
The sewing machine thrust works, and is deadly. It must be more than a touch.

Re: Newest Atzinger Progress Thread
Things suck here in a major way. My boss is AWOL and MIA alot of the time and we are not working at all. The foot injury just tapped me out and I'm dead broke; after I pay all the bills I have nothing. The wife's money is going into savings so we can eat when we are ancient.
Gotta find a way out.

Re: Legal use of a baskethilt
Of course, the above was said for comedic effect, but it's basically true. I used to lose an arm every time I blocked with my hand...people kept acting like I was overdoing it so I stopped.

Re: Anatomy of a good sword thrust in SCA Heavy list...
Guys with super-light hilts will always have a harder time getting thrusts to land hard. Make sure your thrusting tip is the MINIMAL legal size. You don't want an inch (or above) of foam up there. Make sure the top of your thrusting tip is FLAT as a pancake. When I land a perfect thrust it really ba...

Re: How to teach yourself to not hit flat.
At the end of the day you simply look at your sword blade and you can tell how many off-edge shots you threw that day. It's not perfect because of blocks you may do etc. but you really get a clearer picture of what you are doing. If you use a narrow piece of tape on your edge you can REALLY nitpick ...
