She also competes in Ironman events and triathlons etc.

I just think that Chef/Bob R. would *REALLY* have fun at Asbjorn's tournaments- THAT'S ALL. I don't want the WMA people to avoid the new tourneys at Pennsic just because of the SCA itself. Forget about who is a King, a Duke, or a Knight or a Master or any of that bullshit- I think Pennsic is a great...

We are not interested in what DUKE SIR CONN MaCNEIL can do, Chef- we are interested in what YOU can do. Joaquin, once again you have shown that you can't control your mouth. Must you alw...

An Open Challenge to all WMA students.

Since the next Pennsic will likely have quite a few specialized tournaments for those interested in the manuals, I would like to see some of the members of the other groups make an effort to show up and fight. It seems to me that is shouldn't be too hard to gain a quick authorization, or to make sur...

Cet, I understand your point, and I have been in enough specialized SCA tournaments to know that the type of event will dictate the types of techniques used. If you want to halfsword, you need to find another person who wants to fight longsword. If you want to pommel strike, you have to make a thrus...

Give me a break. What types of historic techniques were you looking for? Be specific. It's a foot tourney- people bash at each other with edge strokes.

Before the end of the period we study, barrier combats are usually associated with informal deeds of arms during sieges etc. The type of elaborate 15th century Pas that inspired your Company of Saint George almost never mention barrier combats as part of the festivities (at least as far as I can rem...

The quality, depth of character and nobility in these two men is reflected in their knightly appearance. They care deeply about adding to your time travel experience, as opposed to taking away from it. This is courtesy at it's finest, no?

1)Have you ever ramped up the power of your blows in a fight after an opponent did not take a shot you felt landed solidly? Yes- as a matter of courtesy. I also try to power down when neccesary. 2)Have you ever ramped up to a power that you yourself would rather not be hit by? I don't consider mysel...

Are you one of those fighters who wears nice steel leg armour, but beneath the knee has nothing visible but the bottoms of your sweat pants and a pair of modern running shoes? PLEASE make a simple pair of leather greaves. They don't have to be two-piece fitted ones- simple frontal ones will suffice....

The Burgundians are not French. In the Middle Ages, there was always the question of where the allegiance of individual knights should be directed. Bertrand du Guesclin was a Breton, who supported the French Crown. There were plenty of knights from Gascony and Brittany in the service of the English....

Q.Have you ever knocked out an opponent in SCA combat? If yes, how many? A. I have accidently knocked out two people. The first was at a demo for an exclusive private school. I can attest to the terrifying shearing power of the tip shot. I once cut three or four good gashes into an ancient 18G refrigerator with a high quality Del-Tin sword.
