I'll be there. I have no idea how I am gonna get myself and all my stuff there. But I'll be there if I have to walk.

As for my feelings on this subject, you can take Rhys' post above, copy it, and just sign my name at the bottom. I feel that even after the shield became relegated to the tiltyard, that it's use for every situation was widely taught. You would have learned how to use a shield by the time you were te...

As I have said many times before, anyone approaching a level of force needed to damage a man through the silly "armour standard" needs to bring it down a notch or two. I am one of the few people who understand where Rhys is coming from, even though I don't endorse the higher force levels I encounter...

Please strive to present your ideas in the most positive light possible. Why? Because it will make people more receptive to your ideas. Just something to think about.

Some of my buddies give me so much damn grief because I won't fight in Crown- it drives me nuts. 1. My lady could not reign because of mundane responsibilities, and there is no way in hell that I could fight for anyone else. 2. At this stage in my life it's very important for me to put every dime I ...

Richard, I am surprised at you! As a member of the Order, you are bound by oath and tradition to never speak of these matters in a plain and understandable manner. "Knightspeak" should be cryptic, obtuse and filled with irritating koans that make not the slightest sense. As an unbelt, I feel like it...

Oftentimes I see unbelts fail to get anything out of their losses to the Monsterhats because they cannot stay focused mentally. Let's face it, most of us lead very stressful mundane lives, and we go to events to have fun. It is important to learn to make the mentally challenging fights fun. If you a...

Who works aluminum? Sasuke?
Guys, something has got to change. I don't think I am interested in fighting in leather limb armour anymore. Occasionally I get bashed so badly that it screws me up for weeks. The odd low blow, a shot that gets into the small unarmoured places- my regular SCA kit is not protecting me well enough any...

Gracious Sir Henrik- Thanks very much for taking the time to tell me about this journey of yours. I had a similar experience last year at Pennsic during the Grand Pas. I looked around and I was really there. It was an amazing experience because it was the tournament that I envisioned when I first he...

Sir Henrik- First off, thanks for helping to invent and develop the Society. Second, how much of the gear that you wore at the Hastings event was part of your original SCA kit that I have seen pics of on the History of the West Kingdom site? I got all misty eyed when I read the T.I. article. What wa...
