Common usage of war hammer usually applies to the shorter horeseman's version m You can see a bec de corbin "crow's beak" at the museum replicas site - it's one of their decent items. It's a bit late for the period you mentioned. m You do have other forms of poll weapons appropriate to the late 14th...

Were I to take up a new period, I'd probably drop $2k for a starter kit. If ya go for a military impression (which most guys do) soft kit, sword & armor for ancient or medieval periods, soft kit & gun for later. Might be a bit lower (like $1,000) for Dark ages or viking. But that's me, I like nice s...

No gambesons - Jacks, or arming doublets for under armor. Doublets for civilian wear.

Legwear is Hosen, either joined or split. (This was a time of transition for legwear, as well as armor.)

Acetylene torch buying tips

A long long time ago I made a living as a mechanic, so I know how to use one, but I never had to pay for the thing, worry about the specs on the regulators or the tanks. I just had to fire the thing up, set the pressure on the regulator & go to work. Well, now I'm looking for a torch for light work ...

Because skin oil is acidic, one of the biggest causes of rust on armor is fingerprints.. The most effective way of preventing rust is cleaning it and using some sort of oil on it. I'm looking for online pics and dimensional information to provide a smith with adequate info to make some of these annoying little devices.
