I quilted some padding to the knees of my fighting trews. with the chauces over them and garters to hold everything in place, it's a lot nicer than the knee pads.

[quote]However if you have a sport rig purely for being more competitive, and achieving a goal, then once attaining that goal cast it off and denounce those who use it. It smacks of hypocrisy, its one thing if you have a sport rig for fun, and a period rig for authenticity or love of an era. But to ...

I have two kits (I am not happy with either one). I fight in a sport harness most of the time and I have my poor, poor excuse for 1390 transitional. I had the right idea when I built it but my skills are not there to do it justice. There is a huge difference in my performance from one to the other. ...

What I would lik to see is a 1.25" skin on rattan forced into a compatable piece of siloflex. But no one seems to offer those. -+G I have one. I made it myself. It is good for melee. my next trick is going to be to oval the rattan so that the final dementions, once set in the siloflex is about...

I live and die by my 2x3 heater it has a very slight curve to the top so it isn't flat across and a very deep belly to the curve of the bottom point.

If I am fighting with a CG I use an 18x21 heater with a deep boss.

Actually, Edric the Bastard fights with a Atzinger shield, and aside from the "frequent" thickness questions, it was passed without issue. A rewrite is in process (we were waiting on Society Handbook) as I know several people who have shields that violate the 1lb/sqft rule. the new hand b...

You misunderstand me. By Society rules, I would suggest that a falchion "is" whatever you make it to be--I could see one being a polearm. What I was saying is that there is no longer a Society rule preventing laminated blades. gotcha. I thought I read you to say that you had seen a subsec...

That's been the problem I've seen - to make one that LOOKS like the real deal, you usually end up basically making a mace with only one "flange" out of foam (remeber, no laminated swords). Much to my shock and dismay, the new (terrible) Society weapon standards and marshal's handbook has no such ru...

You have already said you are going to cover the boots, that is the 1st thing that jumps out. I'd add a belt with a roundel, kind of like the ones Vitus has been making. I also think that shoulders would add to the look. All in all, it's a nice looking rig!
