Just make sure to PLEASE cover the plastic up. And a tabard doesn't count. A nice surcoat can make any non period rig look good.

close but, the hat is alittle to tall, The crest needs to go down alittle more. The brass trim is not very smooth, and the brim is flat. On the period example the brim is swept downward not flat out. That is the most glaring irregularity.

No offense, Mr. Irish, but you're combining other gauntlets reg's into the full gauntlet(rigid plates)rule. Within the current rule as it's written, you have 3 choices. The words "either" and "or" set the stage. #1 - "either" line them with padding #2 - "or" close cell foam #3 - "or" design them to...

Cailean, I was speaking more of what Uileag said. the Irish and Scotish have never been known to have a very distinct style of armour. Mostly they scavenged and bought from others. Here is a topic that irks me bad. There is no official rule banning finger gauntlets in Atlantia but the marshal won't pass them. We haven't brought up armour much yet. Biggest problem with the SCA versus the reality of the Landsknecht is armor. Most Landsknechts didn't wear armor, if they did it was 3/4 armor with no back, gauntlets, or knee coverage, just a breastplate with huge faulds and an open face helm. The popular Lan...
