NO you should just Call DIBS, then release it later.Joseph D wrote:Current pictures, measurements, payment options, and metal thickness would probably help you in selling this.

Re: Dibs on Calling Dibs!!!
So call it. You are serious about the sale if the measurements fit. That's like walking into the store 5 minutes before someone else and taking the jacket to the fitting room. No one else can buy it while you are trying it on but they can stand by the rack hoping you bring it back because it doesn'...

Re: Dibs on Calling Dibs!!!
Sean, we agree. The problem is that anymore, if you post a question like "what are the measurements" without tagging it with a DIBS post, you are likely to loose it. Not because you didn't want it, but because the seller was ignorant and didn't post all the needed info. :) the guy after you hits it ...

Re: Dibs on Calling Dibs!!!
It has it's place. I view dibs as a way of telling the seller he has an interested customer who needs to check with his wife or the bank or if it will fit or if the stars align but doesn't prevent others from queing up. Would you rather someone say "Dibs until I check with the wife and get a chest ...

I personally agree that 1600 is a hard cut off. But.... not everywhere agrees, and I believe it was not always thus, so some kingdoms retain the 'extended' period as part of their anthropology. Re: Decorative copper plates on SCA helm, possible issues?
Well, you gotta work with what you have. My purse is on a post retirement fast, so a new helmet is out of the question until I find a civilian job. Given that I'm five month's into the job search with negligible results , it's really low on the priority list once I do get a job. So, here I am with ...

Don't take the following as snarky please.
You are trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
If you have a spun dome helmet you should be trying to hide it more, not make it more visible.

Did she make those beads or just assemble the strands? They look nice, but not very viking age. I DO think there is a market for pre-made viking strands, but the beads should be more close to viking age beads it make it work. the viking answer lady has a good page on them: http://www.vikinganswerlad...

The face sits super close. I may even have to put some padding on the inside of the face to keep it from slaming into my beautiful mug on a spear face thrust.

One of the biggest issues I've seen with new female fighters is that they tend to have problems holding up their Shields defensively for any length of time. (NOTE: this is not JUST female fighters, but I find it more in female fighters) A really good strength training excercise to give them is: take...
