I use em. In period I would most likely have had a cut and THRUST sword. A lot of people seem to really not like them saying that a thrusting tip takes away from our game. Though there is no way to know for sure I believe that I fight in a maner that wouldent look completely out of place in the mid ...

Conal, You are right that my kit can be documented, but I believe that it can only be documented in pieces at this time. The whole shebang is missing too many things to be documented as a proper kit. A historical 14th century knight would be ashamed to wear my kit as it stands. So yes, It is documen...

Thank you all for the complements. Still needs a lot of work in my mind . This suit is primararly an SCA suit with some of the pieces usualy being left out. The arming cote and Jupon were crafted by Gamadragora, black steel by Jeff Wasson, Helm by Clang and gauntlets by St Justitine Armoury I believ...

Unfortunetly no, I still have a lot of work to do. Rivets are dead wrong, plaque belt sits too high, legs are not covered correctly, shoes are not covered correctly, helmet and gauntlets do not match. Now since deploying I have ordered a set of mail covered boots and a new pair of chauses. Jeff Wass...

middle east military armour boxs
In the next couple of weeks I need to mail the armour boxes off to the next keeper. It has been great fun fighting here but Its time for me to go home and get my real armour on again. I would like these to go to Afganistan this time as were shutting down here in Iraq. So, who would like em? Edward

Use a lid that has a lip around the edge and place coals on the top as well as under. This helps even out the cooking. I have also heard that if you use a rack inside the oven with your bread in another loaf pan on top of the rack it results in a better non burnt bread. I tend to just have fun with ...

They leg points are one of the only things I cheet on. I started using a pair of heavy sports shoe laces instead of the historic points I use elsewhere. Too many fights I had to loose because of snapped points. I would also loose the gromets completely and put some leather reenforcements. Much bette...

I like to use canvas strapping. I actually have a shield that is made like you described. An aluminum facing with a wood back. It is a rather large shield and I think I used a wood that was too thick as its a bit heavy but its a tank. The first thing I did was I shaped and cut the facing and then I ...
