Hard to beat spring steel for the combination of protection, durability, cost and weight. Ti beats it on everything but cost. Well and how it looks. I have yet to see very many good reproductions of armour out of titanium. Though I think it would be easy to do a kit for a coat of plates. Edward

To add more weight you could allways fill the bottom with cement. That might stop it from moving a bit.

Looks good, I recomend a light brown strap and string. Or if you really wanted black take the brown strap and use iron shavings to blacken it. Only way to make it look right I think.

Sometimes the life span of a shield depends on how you block with it. I have a wood shield that is just starting to fail and its going on four years old. Other people make a new one every couple of months.
