Looking to have a Baselard made.

Hello, any bladesmiths willing to make a baselard? I am looking for a 14th century I handled style baselard with wood scale grips, and a 18 inch double edged dimond cross sectioned blade. The dagger would have to be sturdy and cappable of taking a sharp edge.

I do something simular with my armour. I put the arms in the greaves, the greaves in the legs, the legs in the PB shoes fit on the bottom of the legs and my gauntlets ride above them. Helmet rides seperatly. All the little extras just get packed in the extra space.

I believe that with the 14th century group this endevour would not be too hard. If everyone pitched in like Cian stated and sponcered one piece of camp stuff then it would go over rather easy. For the most part a lot of us allready have the makings for a period encampment we just do so with our home...

I have been using hemp laces for years. Double tie em and they will not come un done. I also wash them with the cote. It helps make them softer and hold a knot better.

I do the same thing. I try to match the weapons to the suit of armour I am wearing. Its just my oppinion and I know I am part of the issue as I own one, but it seems that there are way too many clap visors. It looks like a German behord more than English and French. If you want some really good looking gauntlets, get yourself a real pair of gloves to sew in and attatch the padding under the fingers and hands. The streat hocky gloves are going to stand out quite a bit. My gauntlets are attatched only at the fingers. I have seen a set sewn the entire way down but...

Not to rub it in at all, but Jeff Wasson is currently working on my dream harness. Blackened spring steel with lots of brass. Later 14th century transitional suit. All the rivited chain mail and cloth bits to go. Total price 18K and a work over two deployments.
