I put together a set of plates to protect my spine in Poland. The hard part was designing something that did not alter my breast plate at all. What I came up with is this. Under the robe I have an arming coat with Leather elbows pointed to it and the small flower elbow caps attatched over those. Padded legs with the flat style knees and schinbalds. The legs are held up with a split strap belt and points. I am going to make a reenforced surcoat when all the parts come ...

It depends on if he is going for middle or late 14th century. If middle then the surcoat and helmet, if Late then I would replace the legs with articulated steel. You allready know about the arms. I would also flare the pauldron lames so they sit better over the chain. An if you done have one out a ...
