A solid shot that does not skip off the helmet. My current helm does not ring or gong but it is a very light helm with natural fiber padding. It works great but I do not want to "test" it. I tend to recieve a lot more comments of "No dont take that one" when it comes to head shot...

I think it is a diferent style of visor. the 14th century one I couldent really seeing it pinch the stash but a 15th and later one would stand a better chance.

I could be blind but I am not seeing a question in your post? I do have some of the chain mail pieces you stated. theres benifits to both a full shirt and the sleaves and skirt.

I wear one as much as the army allows. I believe from looking at the effigies that they were quite popular with the Knightly class.
